will 15x7.5" or 15x8" wheels fit on an eg?

uh... yeah what he said....
looking to go 225/45/15 tires for auto-x next year but i don't think 15x7" rims will be quite wide enuff for r-comps...
these would be my track only wheels/tires so i don't really think it would matter too much if they rub only at full lock- how often do you go full lock on course? unless you spin it and have to back up https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif
my car is lowered pretty much right to the tires so i would need to stay right around a 40mm offset or greater

anyone have any thoughts?

225 is too large IMO. 205 is more than enough and has a large selection including the infamous Azenis.

I have 17x7.5 on my civic, only slight rub at full lock, with 205/40r17 tires, with a 45 offset.

8" wide is too much, but I think you'd be able to get away with a 215 wide tire. For a 225, you'd have to raise your car and for a 8" wide rim you'd need a huge offset and maybe even a spacer.

unfortunately unless some of the tire manufacturers are planning on coming out with some new sizes for next year, tire size selection of auto-x race compounds is fairly limited, pretty much either 205/50 or 225/45 would be the only width/profile I could really consider running. I've never seen a 215...

I'm running 205/55/14s on 14"x6" rims on the car now as I was competing in stock class up until I lowered it and did a bunch of other misc. stuff recently, but now that I don't have to worry about the stock wheel size requirements anymore I figured I would see if I could squeeze something a little wider on there...

I dunno... ??

i have the same size rims 17x7.5 (5zigen copse) in my EJ6 95 coupe and i dont rub at all. no spacers. i use the nitto tires if that helps. very good grip too!
