i have a 2000 ex civic with a ls turbo swap....and the speedo just quits working or jumps around or it works fine... i have replaced the cluster and it has a different tranny cause it did it with the stock motor too then i swaped the ls motor and tranny in it and it still does it ...anyone know whats going on

have a CEL come on? usually when the speedo dont work and u replaced the cluster...its the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) or might be bad wiring

VSS Happened to me. My speedo would work randomly. Sometimes it would jump around like crazy as well, even while at a red light.

 

Was the VSS for me, my speedo had stopped working completely and worked sporadically. I got a new VSS, bolted it on, and it worked a charm.
