Shift problem ... sort of
Heya folks, maybe you can help me with something which is still driving me up the wall ! I have recently changed my clutch for an ap racing clutch with 11lb flywheel. I also have a skunk 2 short shifter. I changed the clutch fluid because shifting was very difficult and this has improved things massivly however the shift at times is less than smooth.
I went out in an ITR with the same setup and the gear change was much smoother (Mine feels like the gears are catching as I change gear).
So what next ? I have a full ITR swap in my car and was considering buying a new slave cylinder and master cylinder. However I was wondering whether the ITR slave and master cylinders were different to the standard ek civic si item ? If so should I get those ?
The box is pretty new (done 22k) and is lsd equipped so I doubt its the box.
There is no particular gear it fails to change into consitently, it tends to be random.
Any help you could offer would be great.

You could try changing your tranny fluid. Change your slave cylinder if you haven't already, get the omnipower clutch master cylinder and a steel braided line to replace the rubber one going to the slave. This should help a lot. Also i would recommend new bushings for the shift linkage.

Bit of an update on this one. Having looked at the master cylinder I have noticed that the shaft of the master cylinder is slightly wet (I.e. visible droplets of fluid on my hand when you touch it) Also, and I don't know whether this is normal. the shaft as it goes into the master cylinder has some vertical play (approxy 3-5mm)
I have checked the fluid and it has not gone down since it was replaced however I was wondering if this was normal behaviour for the master cylinder ?
Cheers,
- Jamie

Its leaking on the inside of the firewall right? Replace the clutch master... dont get the Omnipower yet, they have been having tons of problems with them. Go with an OEM master cylinder and get a new slave while your at it.

Yeah, inside the car, whats the score with the omni power stuff ? What sort of problems have they been having ? I really fancy the omni power stuff but would like to know a bit more about it.
Any threads detailing the problems ?
