Problems with the speedometer working!!Need Help!!
I have a 93 civic eg (HATGCHBACK CX)My speedometer only works sometimes...randomly it will start working or sometimes it even jumps for no reason i checked the connection on the tranyy but its still connected good...this morning it was working and sometimes it would jump but i hit a little bump in the road and it stopped working but then a couple of seconds later it started working again can someone tell me how to fix this problem ?? i really need to get this fixed it just annoys me to not know how fast im going i have to judge the spead im going by the rpm's (i know in 5th gear at 3000 rpm's is 70 mph lol)
I had a similar problem, theres a cable that runs down behind the inlet manifold that tends to rub and cause a short, it can only be seen if you get the car up on ramps and look from underneath.
mine had the same problem a couple of days ago and i replaced it and now it works fine or it could be the wire like mac said
isnt this a repost? could have sworn i already posted about this.....
anyway.... its your speedometer itself. just replace the cluster. mine did the EXACT same thing... replaced the cluster, problem solved.
but to make sure its not another problem... do the free stuff first. like check your connections (engine bay and where they plug into the cluster), etc etc. but IMO its the cluster itself.
