D15B Long Block Q's
Will a D15B VTEC long block just drop into a eg hatch that has the d15b7 in it? Will the ac components hook up and everything? How would gas mileage be? Thanks

Re: D15B Long Block Q's
drop in yes, although youll need a vtec ecu to run it. mpg will depend on driving style, transmission and city vs highway but id imagine at low rpms itd be the same as the b7...

Re: D15B Long Block Q's
Im thinking about ordering this from hmo and should i just buy the long block with the p08 ecu? And will my tranny work with it? Or should i get the 5 speed hydro tranny? And what site is best for just eg hatchbacks? Thanks.

Re: D15B Long Block Q's
Your stock transmission will work with it. If you want a little more acceleration, the D15B transmission would be the better choice (or one from a D16Z6 or D16Y8). But if you care more about mpg, the stock one will be better.
You should get the P08, unless you have to do emissions testing (then get a USDM P28). One thing with the P08 is that it looks for a 1-wire O2 sensor, rather than the standard 4-wire one.
