obd 1 has a water temp sensor on the thermostat housing. obd-0 doesn't. are you using an obd-1 thermostat housing? that's what i had to do.

no its on the back of the block.....basically the prob was that the car over heated cuz the fan wouldnt come on, but i switched the wires and now the fan comes on so thats good, but im still getting code 6..... im gonna play with it tomarro, but at least the car is runnin.

yeah, we saw the temp sensor on the back of the block but replaced it with an autometer sender for the 2 1/8" phantom temp gauge. that's why we used the thermostat housing temp sensor. plus the EX harness we were using was setup for it in this location.

OIC, well i have my autometer guage hooked up as well.....still getting code...not sure, we fixed timing, car pulls nice with y21 tranny...that we found out we had (thougt it was an ls tranny) but no VTEC so still alot more potential.....let you guys no...

Re: (Bseriescivic5)

what ECU are u running?

also if it possible that u have the water temp sensor plug connected to the knock sensor thinking it was the water temp sensor?

just throwing out idea's

Bseriescivic5 10-11-2004 11:09 AM

no,double checked water temp, its pluged in right, ECU is a chipped p28 runnin a Vision program....im thinking that this program is fuckin me...i had to advance the timing like 7 degrees to hold a good idle and decent throttle response....Im gonna check the water housing later and see if i can get the code to go away. Maybe then we will have more luch with VTEC...

As for VTEC, we no it works, the siliniod is fine..(we simply added a 12v power source and engaged it manually at about 6k by touching that wire to the ORange one...(VTEC pressure i thi8nk?) and it engaged, so the siliniod is good, but it wont engage on its own....????/ i dunno we need to paly with it some more.

thanks for the input guys, we are almost there.
