Default HEadlight problem!!!

Hey whats up everyone. Last night driving home I smelled like burning wires well it was a funky smell. Then when i parked my car i went to turn the headlights off and the stem was hard to turn. Now the headlights wont even go on now running lights either, so at night i have NO headlights and no instrument lights, its real fun. I just need to know what you think it may be a burned wire?...I checked all my fuses this morning and they were all fine both boxes, so I am totally stuck. My high beam work and so do my blinkers just seems the "stem" when i turn itsn't doing anything PLEASE HELP. I cant drive at night now it sucks. Thanks in advance

if your running after market bulbs , that is prob. your problem. if thats the case, an HID conversion would have been cheaper and safer! sorry.

I am curious to learn if you have stock or aftermarket headlight housings or perhaps side marker lamps.
Check all of you aftermarket wiring for faults.

BTW, do your tail lights light up when the parking lights or head lights are on?
If they do not, then check the fuses under your steering wheel left of the clutch (if it is a 5spd).
You will probably find a 10amp fuse for the interior dash/tail lights/parking lights blown.

get a wiring diagram and retrace it all. i think you have to buy a whole new light assemply switch stem thing.

The contact of your switch burned out. It probably melted the plastic housing, which is why the rotary stalk is hard to turn. You will need to replace that whole part. Try a junkyard, as the switch assembly is about $150 from the dealer and $130 from an online Honda wholesaler.

Any switch from a 92-95 Civic and 94+ Integra will work. Other ones (EK, CRV, etc) may also work but I have no experience with those other control stalks.

It is easy to replace. However, you do have to use the airbag "short connectors" to disable the airbag. You don't want to mess around with the wires by the steering and accidentally pop the airbag.

Go to Borders or Barnes & Noble and look at a Civic Haynes or Chiltons. There is a basic diagram on how to replace the switch.

Basically, take off the top and bottom halves of the column cover. Unscrew the switch assembly and replace with a new assembly.

I took a ton of pics. I will try to find the CDR I put them on so I can post the pics.
