Guess my HP!! I'm too poor to Dyno it:[ help me out
I wasn't looking to get 170-180, i was guessing thats what i have, but i guess i was way off.
Yes i realize B series can be fast, but considering i've beat B16's , a B18, & a few LS's, hell even a 3000gt at the track, i just though my car had more than 125hp. But i guess it does have alot to do with the driver & how well of a tune you have.
BTW, before anybody starts calling me out, all the B-series i've beat except one, was on the interstate. & yes, i beat a 3000gt & a teg w/LS at the track. My best time was a 16.4 in the 1/4.

You should be running atleast 16 flat or even a 15.8 with those I/H/E.
No way you can even come close to B series, and yet a 3000GT.
Maybe they just let off the foot peddle, because that's what I always do when I reach 90+ and they are still flooring it like they are being chased by the cops.

b16s are like low milage healthy z6s..at least any that ive ever seen...
but ya maybe 120 to the wheels, i have seen z6 dyno sheet at 117 whp stock, but it could have had an oil change evry week since the factory to, you never know its condition, get a cold air not short ram but plz save your motor and get a bypass valve, it should help alot more than the short ram, i found a hondata with p28 chipped ecu for 150 on craigs, ill soon be to the dyno with it, but im also gonna be spraying. if you tried you could probly pull a 15.9
but also this kind of thread isnt allowed and maybe we helped you maybe not, goodluck!

Based on your quarter mile time of 16.4 seconds, you have about 19.5 lb/hp. This page http://www.stealth316.com/2-calc-hp-et-mph.htm has some really cool graphs for getting a quarter mile time based on power-to-weight ratio, and vice-versa. Who needs a dyno? Scroll down 'til you get to the "Predicted ET" and use the gray line.
So based on this, if you assume that you+car is about 2500 lbs., that puts you at about 128 flywheel HP. I think that's pretty accurate. Like people have said, D series do not respond well to bolt-ons.
Any power you might have gained has been lost, too, because your wheels are larger (look into unsprung weight and rotational mass) and because a 2.5" exhaust is much too big for your power level (creates turbulence in exhaust stream).
Sell your MSD crap and start saving up for a turbo kit. That's one thing a D series WILL respond to!

damn all u guys do it talk ****!! i believe it, because i beat b 16 and b18 daily and all i have is a obd2a d15b non vtec motor with intake and header and exhaust, and a camgear on a self tune! so trust its possible! oh and i have a 98 civic sedan!

Very entertaining thread, completely funny right down to the title. Bookmarked.
.
I would guess that engine makes about 100whp.
To the OP, you should do your research before so much $$ into your car. For the money you spent, you could have done a LS swap and made more power bone stock

there still weak as ****.
i think i read somewere the a6 has more torque, and im not saying that d16s are better than b16s, im just stating id never spend anymoney on one when i could do an ls swap and pull 90% of all stock b16s, ive never seen a b16 im impressed with,
op go forced induction or b18(anything),

You must have been racing people with 5 large peoples in the car. D15b non vtec are slow as fvck.

sorry but i need to raise the BS flag on that one.
Check your fuel map for any nasty holes, might be causing you to unload in 3rd, lengthen the injector pulse another millisecond, tune the NOS timing, you'll run 9's...
geez if your d series makes that much with those mods, i guess my gsr's got just about 220wheel nicee..... theres no point estimating. if you have a NA single cam theres no point in racing! just DD it till you get something worth your time. seriously if i had a single cam all id care about is MPG FTW
i concur. no way he's beating any of the stuff he claims. unless the cars he raced agreed not to use odd numbered gears lol
exactly. b16's might be the "torqueless wonders", but what's that make the d16 then, a rotating pile of ****? (quote from someone else who i cannot recall lol) give me a break. your setup would not touch a b-series anything.
you reminded me of this lol

Good thing you got that test pipe installed so you can free up all that extra power. Retarded. Do everyone a favor and put a fvckin cat on. Running 16's with no cat is a joke. At least put the cat back in so when people laugh at you running a 16, you can tell them, " hey, at least my **** is legal." I bet you wouldn't even see a difference in power if you put it back in, with that whopping 100 horsepower you're pushing. IDIOT!!
hey some guys can drive the hell off a d series. i used to kill b16's with my dx motor and gutted hb. the other guys sucked at driving and it was just a 1/8 track. A DA teggy used to kick my *** and it was all stock, but the kid could drive.
LMAO @ singlee cams beating single cams and thinking they beat a b series
its always good to dream though....
swap or fully build and tune it if u want some real power my friend...

and yes the d16 is probly a rotating pile of ****, all im saying is neither of them will be fast without forced induction or compleltly built, a b16 running 15s is not fast either,
and really a mustang running low fourteens is not fast,
but to each there own i guess,
anyways ya most of your "mods" are pointless, try to find a good deal on some forced induction, i found a full harris speedworks n2o kit with msd window switch and other accesories, for 175, along with the hondata for 150 with boost option, and im only hoping to mess with some stock b series, and even with spray i will not be fast by any means.
ok you are not anywhere near 180HP. You maybe have 140HP. Because you only have Intake Header and Exhaust. You still have a cat, and you only have a short ram. If you want to make more power, you could swap a Y8 intake manfiold and get it port matched to the head, get a heat sheilding intake manifold gasket, a throttle body heater bypass, and you could get the Y8 manifold plenum bored out to use a B series throttle body.
MSD's dont really add any power, and 6AL systems dont really do anything for NA cars anyway, unless you have some insane high compression build.
Just because you can beat people with B series swaps doesnt mean your car has more power than them. Most of the kids who rock B series cant drive for ****, and since their shitty swaps are so expensive they never seem to have money for tires and instead they just cry about traction all day every day. At the local track there are kids with B16 and GSR swaps running in the high 11-12 seconds at the 1/8th. And my friend who could drive really well ran a 10.5 with a STOCK LS (1/8th mile).
You should get the mods I listed above, or port your Z6 manifold like I said to do to the Y8 one. And get some E3 diamondfire plugs (yes, they are dyno proven to add a bit of power). And a lighter flywheel (8lb or 11LB). Then you will be making a bit more power, and you should be making about 150hp-160HP (provided that you do everything I listed).
Its not easy to extract power from D series when they are in all motor form. If you want to **** all over B series every day, go get a cheap ebay turbo kit, some 450CC injectors, and get your P28 chipped and tuned for boost. Then its 200-220WHP easy.
