Got my hatch today and need to know some stuff about it. (93 si)

Well so far I have had the best christmas EVA!!!!!!!!!A week ago i got some rims and tires and today I got a 93 si hatchback. It is in mint condition except for a couple of cigarette burns on the seats that you can hardly even notice. New paint job. And it was only $3500. 156K. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif but it runs like it only has 20K. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif Anyways...I am not really up to par when it comes to the d series engines. I know alot more about the B series engines. But this is where ya'll guys come in. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif What i need to know:

1. What motor do I have?
2. Is it VTEC (i know i know...flame away)
3. What is the HP and torque?
4. What is the weight of my car?

Thnx alot bauley. U answered that i asked and everything that i forgot to ask. LOL

Well like i was sayin...I dont know alot about these D series engines...so...Is there a better head, intake mainfold,or tranny that i should put on it?

thnx,
Keylan

BauleyCivic 12-20-2003 07:36 PM

Re: (civic2nr9177)

Not really. The Y8 head allows higher compression but doesnt flow as well, and the Y8 tranny has the same ratios as the Z6. However the Y8 intake manifold is a good upgrade from the Z6.

I'd recommend a P&P head with an exospeed cam, a Skunk2 intake manifold, and the usual bolt ons to start out.

civic2nr9177 12-20-2003 07:39 PM

yeah for now i am just gonna go i/h/e. Then intake mainfold and cam...possibly...or i might just go ahead and save up for a turbo. Which i am gonna do later on anyways.
