yeah, i have been looking for a hatch for a long time. you have to jump on a good deal right away. I've called some guys 2-3 days after the ad was posted, and they already sold their ****. I've thought so many times about getting a coupe instead, but have decided not to because I REALLY want the hatch.....good luck to all the other hatch seekers.

They're a dime a dozen here in Orlando, and they just sit at dealerships. I went to check one out today - identical to mine - but it looked like it wasn't taken care of very well so I decided against it.

I found mine at the dealership...I didnt even think I could afford an EK, but wanted to go drive one, so the dealership just happend to have a 97 hatch with 75k on it for 6000 dollars and I couldnt pass it up. I wish i had waited and found an eg so i would have more money to spend on go-fast parts though...

When i was in the market to buy an EH, all i wanted was a VX b/c of it's advantages of wiring and weight over any other EH, and yes it was a bitch to search, i too went on every auto website trying to find one with no luck, MY best luck was searching in the local papers, they seemed to have more sellers of hatches than the internet. And after a few months of searching everyday on ther internet and in the newspapers... I finally found what i wanted, as Tom said earlier, don't settle for anything less than what YOU want, i almost did, and i thank god that i didn't sucomb(sp?) to that conclusion.

Some advice: Search daily, Be prepared to drive long distances, HAVE THE MONEY READY, and never give up

I drove about 130 miles to get my hatch. I actually paid a bit more than I probably should have, but when someone knows you came over a hundred miles for something, you aren't exactly in a great negotiating position. (I did not get gouged on the price that badly, the interior is immaculate, rust minimal, and pretty low miles 84k on a 92.)

Just keep looking, you'll eventually find something, even if you have to make a road trip for it. Don't allow yourself to get worked over though, an old econo box Civic is not worth 6 grand! (Some people here selling beat up 92 Si's were asking 6-7 grand!)

i started off looking for a 92-95 si hatch. the best thing that i found was to search all over the country. if you want one that bad then you might as well drive for it? i dunno 3,000 miles is a lot but we have a lot of civics out here in california for sale.

also, ebaymotors.com has a good selection sometimes. good luck!

I found my hatch by random chance. The hatch that I had wanted for a long time always sat on my friends street and never moved. Well, I had never had a need to pursue this car(even though it wasn't technically for sale). Well, when i got in my accident with my 4door and it was totaled, I said "oh what the hell" and I left a note on the hatchback. Next day I get a call and the guy was like "I havent put it up for sale yet...but its yours if you want it"! A week later I was the proud of a 1992 Si Hatchback
I started to think about doing this, leave a note, offer, and phone number. Voila! Wait for the phone calls.

It took me about 2 months or more. I was looking for any 92-95 hatch in good condition. I was lucky to find my Si in good shape for a fair price. All the other ones I called about were in bad shape or sold.

i got my 92 cx by luck. my mom's car was blew a gasket, and the dealership that my mom bought the car from let my mom borrow a car, while they looked for another one for her.

so they let us borrow a 95 3000gt, which i just started to drive around. (non-turbo) well they had a buyer for the gt so my dad went back, and i was at school at the time, and then when i open up the garage, boom their was a 92 cx hatch in our garage.

and i was like whoa, thats the car i want. (grey in color). and at the time my car i had was a 90 300zx n/a, and i was trying to sell it. but had no luck.

but the guy ended up trading for the hatch, and some good cash for my z.

so i feel i got really luck in getting my hatch.

The key is PATIENCE. They are out there, you just have to keep looking. I found what seemed to be a very clean 1995 white CX (original owner) on autotrader this week. Before I could get a chance to look at it, SOLD. Keep looking and don't settle for some POS. Good luck..
LOL.
Was it the one for $1800? I called about it, but it was sold an hour before...

finding a perfect hatch may be impossible but not finding A hatch.... when my 94 white si hb was stolen i had only my turbo kit refund money to spend.... u just gotta know where to look and have good timing... even if it comes down to u leaving notes on windshields of local hatches... u never know the owner may call back and say how fed up he is with it and dump it for 500 or whatever. i got lucky and found my 92 si shell in MINT shape... it was totally gutted which allowed me to build it as i wanted. i used to go to all the classifieds too like u. if that fails try some note on the windshield trick and keep eyes peeled when drivin around.. it seems im lookin out the side window more than the front when im cruisin on streets i havent been on before cause u just may find the diamond in the rough... a eg sittin on the side of some guys house cause the tranny went and its been sittin there for 2 months and u go to the door and the guy says gimme 100 and take it away.

Similar thing happened as to how I got my EF. red 88 dx hatch, no rust. My friend sold it to another friend of mine. Brian was the seller, john was the buyer. John payed brian half the money, (300 out of 600 or something). Then the car, which Brian said had no problems, took a **** on John. battery died, blew a radiator hose, and some other bullshit. It sat in a garage for 4 months, John wouldn't pay the rest cause it took a **** on him and he had no money to fix it. Brian didn't have the title or the key, and he didn't really feel like dealing with it. So I said "Brian, I'll give you fifty bucks for it." He said ok cause he was sick of dealing with it, and then John mailed me the key and the title.

Oh yeah. FS: red 88 civic hatch

I found my hatch about a year and a half ago. (sat in my driveway for about a year due to license problems). Anyway, a good friend of my stepfather had this '93 black Si h/b that was hooked up to big pimpin status. ("18 rims, 2 12's in the back, alpine this, altezza that) neatless to say, he got himself a bmw and no longer had use for it. He turned it back to stock and was asking $3,500 for it, but while sitting in the street, it was vandalized, so he brought the price down to $2,500. I think I got what I payed for, although he took out P/S and the A/C, something I woulda done anyway. I've had her ever since.
