Default Engine Start Problem

Hi, I hope that somebody can help me. I own a honda delsol (jmd Import) 1.6 vtec with the B16a engine see http://www.hondadelsol.co.uk for full details.

The engine has not been modified apart from a k+n filter

The car has covered about 85k and is in very good mechanical condition, how-ever there is a slight problem while the car warms up.

The car will start perfectly when cold but if i drive for 5 minutes and then stop and restart the engine it fires up and then instantly dies, i have to leave it for 3 to 4 minutes then try to restart it. this problem dis-appears once the car has fully warmed-up. i have changed the fuel filter (service) and also the theromstat.

If you have any ideas which may help please reply

ALSO - the central locking on the passenger door does not unlock the door but it does lock this door when operated from the drivers door

hi there, ive just checked my ecu for the fault codes by linking the 2 cables as explained but the engine check light worked as normal (lit for a few seconds then turned off)

I take from this that the ecu has nothing to report? is that correct.

then on further examination i found that the ecu was a spoon sports ecu. after browsing a few pages on the web i found that this was a replacement unit. do you know how to show the fault codes with this unit (if it is a different process) or where i could get this information???

Try replacing spark plugs (buy those that Honda advises)... it has to be NGK or DENSO

I think they might be NGK BKR6E-N-11 but not sure... check in your car manual and buy those sparks and you will see if anything will change...
