Default engine problem... please help

changing the oil a few days ago and noticed there was a puddle of what looked to oil sitting on top of the intake manifold. Crawled underneath and saw ALOT of oil caked up the manifold and everythig under it.

Then when i went to change the air filter i saw oil / gas mix puddled up inside the intake box and TB. Degreased it and drove it for one day and its all back again.

My TB is completely black and oil has apparantly conquered my airbox. If anybody has any opinions as to what is causing this please let me know.

Thanks .

THIS PROBLEM SOUND REAL STRANGE. I WAS GONNA SAY TO CHECK YOUR GASKETS AND YOUR CONNECTIONS BEHIND THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. HOWEVER THAT WOULDNT MAKE ANY SENSE CONSIDERING YOU HAVE IOL ON TOP OF IT. I WILL ASK MY TUNER AT THE SHOP AND SEE IF HE HAS ANY IDEAS.

i have the oil stuff on top of my intake manifold. i dont know exactly what it is or where it came from but i dont see it hurting anything.

the oil and gas in your intake box?? that is bad. thats a sign of blow back and can seriously screw your engine up.

i dont know what causes blow back or how to fix it either. sorry

could be bad valve seats

AS FAR AS TH MIX IN YOUR INTAKE BOX, YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK OUT ALL THE HOSES AND LUBRICANT CONNECTIONS ON THE INTAKE MANIFOLD. THERE MIGHT BE A PIN HOLE OR LEAK THAT IS DRIPPING DOWN INTO IT SOMEHOW. OTHER THAN THAT, I CANT SAY THAT I EVER SEEN THIS BEFORE.

thanks so far. i have checked all of my hoses, gaskets and connecters and everything is securely in place.

I figured it was blow -back and know that that is something that is best avoided but i don't know how to eliminate the problem. One other thing that might help ; i removed the intake box completely from the TB and oil / gas has coated the the intake inlet. It was so bad it was dripping.

I know this is not good. thanks for the help so far. if anybody else has any inpuit it would be greatly appreciated.

thanks.

p.s. the engine is a d16. is this a goo dreason for a swap or will this be inexpensive to correct ?
