Default Engine codes

After doing my swap this weekend, we got several CEL's. The first one was for o2 (fixed by plugging in the second sensor), second was for MAP pressure (went away by itself), and the third was the random misfire code, which also went away by itself. We reset the ECU after each code, and they kept disappearing.

So, when we started the car without the jumper for the third time, there was no CEL light at all. However, someone told me today that the light may not come back on, although the problem will still exist.

I got kind of worried about that, because we did absolutely nothing besides for resetting the ECU after we got the 2nd and 3rd codes, and when we started the car without the jumper, the light did not come on at all. It has not came on since.

Can someone please explain/clarify this to me? Could the problems that the CEL reported still exist, without turning on the CEL? Any help would be much appreciated. TIA

sometimes you'll have to reset the ecu so that the actual cel light will go away, although the problem might've already corrected itself. if there are no cel lights, then chances are u are ok.
