Well, not sure which "EH6" is, but here there are S, and SI in '93 and they added VTEC model for 94-97.

I believe none came with a rear sway bar, but you can get an Integra front and rear for that. The LCMs will have to be changed out in the rear. Its larger in the front.

Other than that, you can order parts on ebay, but search for mid 90s Integras in the junk yards.

Hi!
Thanks for your help.
Does the chassis need any extra strength/ weldings or holes?
Does lcas need to be changed? There is na unused hole in it... Is it for the sway bar?
Thanks

Pretty sure the sol VTECs came with a rear sway after a certain year, not sure of the diameter. I do know most people who run rear sways in sols need a sub-frame brace to keep the metal from tearing with more aggressive bars.

A front lower U or H brace does wonders for Sols body roll.

Thanks! But if I choose a oem bar that fitted the VTI version, would I need that sub-frame brace?
I mean, is the chassis equal to the vti's ?

Bottom right corner of your post.

With a sol i wouldn't take the chance and just run a rear brace. If its does become a problem, it pretty much destroys the car. Minus welding in a new rear subframe, aint nobody got time for that.

I can't change the title of the thread, just posts'.
So I would only need to bolt on a rear brace?
Do I need to change lcas?

Your LCA's have the hole for a rear sway, as long as your end links fit the holes it should work fine.

Can you specify your exact year and model of your sol? Its odd you have the LCAs for a sway but no actual swaybar. Maybe a previous owner changed them out?

This is an ESI (D16Z6) from 1992 sold new in Portugal.
I'm sure those are the original lcas, this car has always been in the family.

The following is info for the USA models:
- S = 21mm front & no rear
- Si = 21mm front & no rear
- VTEC = 24mm front & 15mm rear

You can also use the 22mm front or 14mm rear from a 94-01 Integra (non Type-R). If you want to use the Type-R 22mm rear sway bar, you better get a subframe brace like ASR. Those are the ones known to tear out the subframe on EGs and EKs.

For those non type-r Rear bars all you "need" are the brackets that mount the sway bar to the subfram. You may possibly needs nuts if your subframe doesn't have them tach welded inside already (my Civic did not). All parts shown here:

- 1 sway bar (14mm or 15mm)
- end-links (2) & bolts (4)
- D brackets & bushings (2 each)
- Mounting brackets (2) & bolts (8)

My checks were all on 1994 model years. Looks like 1993 "S" had no bars. Then in 1994 Honda added a 21mm front.

1993 S: 1993 Honda Del Sol 2 Door S KA 5MT Front Lower Arm - HondaPartsNow.com
1994 S: 1994 Honda Del Sol 2 Door S KA 5MT Front Lower Arm - HondaPartsNow.com

I also need to update my previous list. Looks like the Si has a 22mm front bar. Not 21mm like the S.

***edit***
- 93 S = no sway bars
- 94-97 S = 21mm front & no rear
- 93-95 Si = 22mm front & no rear
- 96-97 Si = 22mm front & 13mm rear
- 94-97 VTEC = 24mm front & 15mm rear

Yup, you're right... 96-97 Si had a 13mm rear bar.

Default Re: Del Sol suspension/ chassis improvement

Mini thread revival, but its relevant questions and info. I recently purchased the rear sway off of a 95 GSR (14.7mm?) with D brackets and end links to go onto my usdm 93 Sol Si. So my question is what all compatible LCA use these end-links? Or do i have the plethora (teg, sol, civic,) of LCAs to choose from?

@94EG
Where did you purchase your mounting hardware? I can see its new from your photos but i cant seem to find an option aside from OEM. A few sub frame braces come with the hardware, so there's always that option.

Default Re: Del Sol suspension/ chassis improvement

Any regular integra/EG/Del Sol rear LCA should work as long as it has the bump on top with the threaded bolt hole. Should look like the bottom one in this photo.

Those black bolts I used were grade 12.9 metric bolts (don't use anything less than metric grade 10.9), some washers, and some nylock-nuts that I got at Lowes in the hardware section.

Most EG/DC chassis that didn't have a rear sway are missing the welded on nuts inside the rear subframe. That means you need lock nuts If you're lucky you already have nuts inside those holes in your subframe. That will make assembly 100 times easier.

Metric grade 8.8 is too soft and roughly equivalent to SAE grade 5 bolts. Do not sue them.

PS: Those aftermarket subframe braces (ASR & ASR clones) do not work with 14mm rear bar. They are made for the 22mm Type-R bar. The D brackets on the 14mm setup have a narrower bolt spacing.

Default Re: Del Sol suspension/ chassis improvement

Thanks for the info that is tons of help. I guess thread and pitch doesn't matter if you are using your own nuts on the sub-frame. Ile have to cruise a few diagrams to figure out stock size/pitch of the bolts that connect the end-links to the LCA, and then do some shopping now that i know the 2 pieces should fit together. Definitely going to save that Metric to ASE conversion table as-well. Luckily ordering the sway from Florida means its rust free and the stock hardware that is there is in pretty good shape. Sadly the other bolts are long gone.

As for the sub-brace, i had a hunch it wouldn't fit. I figured if nothing else i could just drill it out and "make it fit". I wouldn't do that to an ASR brace but a clone, why not?

It doesn't really work that way. You would also have to drill through your subframe, as well as drill & tap holes into the rear brace brackets. The stock brackets are really the way to go with the 14mm bar.

BTW: The stock sway bracket bolts are M8 x 18mm. OEM part# is 95701-08018-08 and cost about a $1 each at the dealer (though they will have to order them).
