Icon2 Help with intake on 92 eg

A hose on the manifold is making strange noises and looks like it isn't letting air through unless i rev it pretty high im asking if i need a replacement part to what its connected to under the manifold (no idea) or just to replace the hose itself. Its the one circled in red. Any help would be appreciated thanks Name: nYDShr8.jpg

Unkink the hose? Cut the hose shorter?

That's your PCV, I believe. PCV valves are 1 way valves that let extra crank case pressure out. What air are you looking to be let thru? What is going on over there?

But doesn't the hose look to be folded over itself? Or is that just me?

^edited my comment.

I'm not sure what OP is really asking. It doesn't look folded. It's not a constant flow thru hose.

Dude just go buy some cut-to-length vacuum hose and replace it. I think the solution is pretty obvious here.

It looks kinked/folded over right where it passes under the smaller hose going to the FPR.

FPR hose location looks funny.

It looks kinked too. Right at the FPR.

hey OP here, I thought it was kinked too but it just curves really strange that way it could just be a cheap tube that i need to replace which would be best scenario but im just worried that it might be something else its connected to or if its the manifold or what.
when i leave it idling it will get like this strange sound coming from the tube itself also it will look pinched when idling
im just asking before i keep driving and **** up something else.

ill take better pictures later

thanks for all the help guys

If the hose is collapsing due to manifold vaccum, you will definitely a hear hissing sound. Kinda like your pinching a balloon as you let the air out. The reason it stops when you open the throttle is because there is less manifold vacuum to collaps the hose (so it starts flowing normal).

The hose has failed and/or the PCV valve has failed. What you should do is replace both of those items with new OEM stuff that match your intake manifold. Don't use aftermarket parts as the PCVs will flow too much (it's supposed to be a specifically sized restriction for your exact motor), and using any old bulk-hose can/will result in failure and/or oil smell in your car. Also the Aftermarket PCVs have a slightly fatter seat too which means it will permanently stretch the grommet it plugs into (I currently have this problem on my CRX).

A PCV hose this not fuel rated will saturate with oil film and start to stink and can even become wet with oil on the outside (I've done this before). It will also break down the rubber and start to collapse under vacuum. Plus the OEM hoses are molded into a specific shape so they fit perfectly with no kinks (as well as being the perfect diameter).
