Re: Checking CEL codes....need help (hondaracing1)
According to these trouble codes I am looking at...one blink means oxygen content if you are OBDI. If you are OBDII. it would be your primary O2 sensor
Also...there is a FAQ at the top of this page with ALL the trouble codes.....

You may just be better off checking them yourself.

Use a wire. Strip it on both ends, it fits better.

Matters what code it is. What car? swap? engine harness used?

So you got 2 fast ones, the two or three slow ones. A Code 22 or 23 would be
Blink.............Blink.............blink...blink
Blink.............Blink.............blink...blink. ..blink
blink...blink.........................blink....... ..........................blink IS NOT a CEL 22

I am not 100% on this so maybe someoen else can chime in but...
Would a code 3 for example be...
blink..blink..blink
or
blink...............blink....................blink . I cant see how you get two short blinks FIRST...there is no code 2 and you wouldnt get two code 1's back to back like that
short blinks are one and I thought they came SECOND. so if you had a code 2..it wouldnt be two short blinks...it would be two long blinks...vs a code twelve that would be one long and two short

Long Blinks indicates the first number, then fast blinks will give you the second digit.
LONG LONG SHORT = 21
SHORT SHORT SHORT SHORT = 4
LONG SHORT......PAUSE......LONG LONG LONG SHORT SHORT = 11 & 32
LONG LONG SHORT = 21
SHORT SHORT SHORT SHORT = 4
LONG SHORT......PAUSE......LONG LONG LONG SHORT SHORT = 11 & 32

Okay...by that way...he is getting a code 2 and a code for the first set of short blinks....so what is 2 or 3 long blinks...........
He is OBDII for a 96.......there is no Code 2 At least on my OBDII car. He said he got an exhaust so maybe I was thinking along the lines of secondary O2 but that code is 6 (6 long blinks) 3(3 short blinks) and I know because I currently have that code on ym car.

Wouldn't that mean he has a code 2: 02B / oxygen sensor #2 and a code 30: automatic transmission A signal?

Or would the second code be a 12: EGR / exhaust gas recirculation lift valve

Re: (specv5150)
You're not making sense. In your original post you said that 1 blink for an OBD II would be the primary 02 sensor. Using that reasoning and the FAQ, 2 blinks would be the secondary. Later you said that the code for the secondary O2 was 63. If you go with this reasoning and the FAQ, then the code for the primary would be 61.

if its throwing a code, it'll KEEP BLINKING
even if its a one blink code,
it'll blink once.. pause for a sec, blink once, pause for a sec, blink once.. etc etc etc....
if you're not throwing any codes it should just stay on(at least for obdI).
if you're throwing a code that only shows up once you're car is running, then the CEL will probly just turn on then turn off and not come back on, until you start the car up completely.
just some stuff to think about.
hope it was helpful.
