Default cel code

i checked my cel code and it came up as a 67 which means catalyst system. that is from when my cat clogged up and i threw on a test pipe and i guess since the two o2 sensors read the same thing it throws a code. my performance has been really shitty with little bottom end and just some awesome topend power. i have heard somewhere that sometimes when a code is thrown like this the ecu retards the ignition which gives shitty performance. can anyone clarify or help me with getting everything back to operating properly and cheaply?

Its called limp mode. I believe that your test pipe has caused the problem. if your running a OBD 2 car you are basically screwed when it comes to emissions cause the OBD 2 computers like to keep everything clean

Yes, it does retard timing, among other things. It will cause your car to run rich also. One way to get around this is to go OBD1. It only uses one o2, so whatever happens after that doesn't really matter. When my car had a cel it ran like **** too. After i fixed the problems my gas milage increased 40 miles per tank and ran a lot better.
