Default Built GSR Overheating problem??? advise??

ok heres the deal, have a built GSR block , with Darton MID sleeves, complet;y rebuilt with 85mm pistons. now everything was assempled perfectly and the car idles, and runs fine, with no truble things except it after letting it idle for five minutes or driving for more than 2 minutes.. i acts very wierd, it will hold at normall running temp for a minute or so then slowly start climbing, which is puzzleing me, the rad fan comes on but then the temp slowly climbs upward then i turn the car off to avoid overheating damage. what could be wrong, it has full coolent , and a new waterpump and no coolent leaks anywhere.

Well if you find out that your thermostat is still good then I would move on to getting a long radiator with two fans on it. if you still cant keep it cool then the only thing that makes sense is the 85mm bore makes the cly wall to thin and allows for to much heat transfer to the coolant.

good point, but there are alot of people who drive 85mm bored b series out there, and i guess a dual radiator will help me alot, but im wondering if its a lack of radiator or something ealse wrong, that my new idea swap full length radiator. i also have a question, if you pinch the lines for the Oil coller in the back of the block you think it would cause it to overheat?

yup! i think that is the problem one of the hoses that hoes from the water bar to the oil cooler is pinching close, i used 1/2 inch heater hose instead of a molded stock one, would that make it overheat thoght? its only gogin to the oil cooler or do you think that is the problem?

when your car is running does the lower hose get hot or stay cold? did you try bleeding the system?

can not say for sure that the pinched hose will cause the problem but it not cooling the oil will cause the oil to be hotter and in turn make the motor hotter. even if it isnt the route cause it will deffintly raise the temp.
