Brake Setups!
I am looking to increase my stopping abilities, so any setups, advice or info will be helpful!
-What all do you need to put a Prelude brake setup on an EG Hatch? I have seen this before so this is why Im asking! -What Brake pads do you recommend and why? Im looking for the "best bang for you buck" type setup here! |

you will need 95-96(correct me on years) prelude rotors redrilled to 4x100 and you will need either accord wagon calipers or ITER calipers and you will need to grind a bit off of the caliper to get them to fit correctly

As far as the rears, the calipers are the same as the GS-R's. If you're looking for the best bang for your buck, why don't you just replace your rear drums to Si brake disks or get the entire Si brake setup. Next to that go with an entire GS-R brake setup. You'll also need the 15/16" MC because of it's larger piston. If you can get it with the brake booster, go for it. You'll also need the 40/40 prop' valve. Without it, your rear disks have a greater chance of locking up easily or sometimes even on its own. Make sure all this is for non-ABS. (Unless, somehow, your car came with ABS.) |

My bad I forgot to mention that I have a 92 Civic HB Si! I already have rear disc brakes!

Want to upgrade for autocrossing! My car stops pretty well now so Im not sure if I should just upgrade the pads or the the whole rotor/caliper combo or what!

I think the cheapest way to go, with the best outcome, would be to get an entire GSR brake swap, some new Steal Braided brake lines, some race/street pads, and some good new fluid. this should yeild good resluts for a decent price if you shop around or can find a deal on some of this stuff. jon |

Ahhh... I'm assuming your Si is non-ABS? The ABS-equipped Si's have larger rotors. They're the same as Integ' rotors. Next size up would be the GS/GS-R rotors, then the IT-R's. |

if this is manily for autoX why don't you just get some good pads?
i highly doubt you would need anything more. you wont get brake fade you're not going super fast just look into some pads. i have cobalt GT-sports and i love um. |

Civic ex abs has the same size calipers as integra (all integra, minus itr have the same calipers). Civic ex non-abs and si have the same size caliper. |

If you're just autocrossing, it isn't really necessary to upgrade the rotor size unless your car is horribly under-equipped as it comes. You mentioned that your car already stops "pretty well"; can you consistently lock up all four wheels? If so, then there is no reason to modify your brakes. What tires and pads are you using? For autocross, Cobalt GT Sports or Axxis Ultimates should be sufficient for both street tire and R-compound applications. Now if you intend on doing track days with a hybrid car, I would recommend upgrading to the 10.3" front brakes to help keep the temperatures down, and to go along with them a 15/16" master cylinder. If your just starting out autocrossing just change out the pads, lines and fluid. You don't want to make drastic changes in the car your used to driving. All of what I said is cheap and is done very easily. Pick out pads that are right for you. If you want to change pads for AutoX days get some race pads, if not get some all around good pads. I like Hawks and forodos, but get what you like.

So what pads do you guys reccommend b/c I see alot and did a few searches yesterday but not sure which ones to go with?(ex. Endless, EBC, AEM, or Hawk) Also, yes I have heard using better brake Fluid helps out too! So which Brake fluid is really good to use? Where can I get this stuff for a good price? On my EG6 hatch I got NSX front calipers, MG rover 11.5"x1" (282mmx25mm) rotors (I'm in England) they're the right PCD from the box https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif and EBC Red Stuff Pads with steel lines all round and goodridge race spec fluid and the 15/16ths master cylinder.
