alignment issues
ok i took the car to pep boys to get an alignment (i know i know but its the only place open on sundays). Well they throw the car on the machine and then take it off and said it has a bad bearing so they cant align it cause the wheel will always change directions or something. he could barly speak english and i dont speak spanish. all i heard was wheel bearing. is that true? if the bearing is bad they cant align it? im gonna jack the car up and try to shake it like the other posts said and ill let you know how it went. but could it be possible that they just didnt wana do it? TIA
the passanger side has alittle more play than the drivers side but not much. when i spin the tires they both sound the same 2. i hear alittle rubbing but im pretty sure its the dust blocker thingy. could it be that pep boys just said it was bad cause they didnt wana work on it? is there another way to test it besides shaking the tire? ty

Best way to check for a bad wheel bearing with no tools is to jack up the front of the car, support it on stands. Grab the TOP and the BOTTOM of the tire and try to move it back and forth. There should be no movement. Don't wiggle it side to side, thats not going to help you out.
If there was indeed a bad wheel bearing with excessive play then yes, they should have not touched the car and returned it to you. It would be pointless to allign something with damage to the suspension as its just going to get back out of spec in a matter of no time. You must repair the damaged item prior to alligning the vehicle.
