White smoke, high idle, engine swap and ecu
***Edit -- SOLUTION IN SECOND POST
Summary in list form:
SITUATION:
-Swapped obd2a engine into obd2b car.
-Used new engine harness and ecu. Not NEW, but you know what I mean.
-Runs weird and am afraid it's the ecu or engine harness that has somehow caused damage to engine.
SYMPTOMS:
-After it warms up and idle comes down, it starts to rise again. Especially after driving it. Idle continues to rise and eventually went up to over 3k.
-A lot of white smoke from exhaust, tons of white smoke. Does not smell sweet at all.
-Temperature went up just slightly
-Radiator seems to be under pressure. There was a little bit of coolant splattered on intake. However, it wasnt completely full. After I topped it off, it didnt do the splatter thing again.
-No check engine light.
-Engine has never overheated since I've owned it.
Ok, so that's the issue. When I noticed the car had extremely high idle, I drove it the couple blocks back home and turned it off. I made sure coolant was topped off, started it again after a couple hours, same thing happened, only this time it went from cold to operating temp after about 45 seconds.
Please advise!!
Thanks

Re: White smoke, high idle, engine swap and ecu
So after close to 200 view and no replies, as well as me freaking out that my engine had blown it's headgasket, I figured out the problem...
-The "white smoke" was just warm exhaust going into the cold air.
-The temp/coolant issue was just low coolant.
-The idle issue was just a sticky throttlebody, kinked/dirty cable, and dirty iacv.
All has been cleaned and car now runs/idles like a champ.
Hope this helps someone else in the future!
