Re: any comments of the comptech short shifter (spoonlongblock)
i bought one for caveman for his birthday a while back.....not hard at all to install, did it in about 15 min or less, he loves it! Said it makes the throw from second to third a hell of a lot better and he said it takes away that third gear grind that a lot of peeps are postin about.
we also found out that it will go in any of the model civics, ex, lx, and si's. we tried it out in my ex first to just be sure. i am looking to get one soon too. good luck with it.

I installed one on my freinds 06 DX. took less than 15 minutes, fit fine, and a very noticable diffrence, expecially between second and third. Defintly a must have!

I have an o6 si, and i'd like to do the short shifter. Does it wear down the clutch faster or is that BS?

it reduces the shifting distance by up to 22%. makes it to where it doesnt have to move as far to go into gear.

u installed one at the dealership? does it void any part of the warranty? that is my biggest concern

I think comptech has a deal with honda about there parts. I know honda will allow spoon parts on without voiding your warranty. I think its the same with comptech as long as it is installed by your dealer. you could probably ask your honda dealer and see what he says. But worst case, you could just take it out if you need to take your car in for warranty. doesnt take but 15 min. to change.

I'd definately like to hear any first hand experience comments from fellow FG1 owners about the short shifter

When installed, does the SS help go into gear better?

I saw the info above, that it helps with the 3rd gear grind issue. But is the movement a little more stiff?
