Icon2 Speedometer problem

Ok, so i have a 2004 Honda Civic LX with around 51,000 miles on it. I live in Ohio, with this lovely weather that we have, and mainly in the morning when its FREEZING, my speedometer will not work. It will read 0 until the car warms up and I stop to let it get back down to zero. If it warms up and I dont stop, it will start going up, but wont get to the speed that I am b/c if I am going 40, the new reference point is 0 and if I speed up to 50, then it will say I am going 10.
When the speedometer is at 0, it wants to move, it is shaking (right up next to the plastic thing at the bottom, almost like its stuck to it or something).
Any idea what could be causing this? It is obviously due to the cold (at least I think it is)

Clean it and check the plug.

I had a more very interesting problem...

I have 01 civic LX 5MT, the problem was that the speedometer doesn't work till I press the clutch a little (just touch the pedal). Its good when you want to pass the 120mph limit, I get some 140mph...

Just removed and disassembled the tranny (for other reasons), clean everything and the problem was gone...
