Default odd problem

my friend has a 2001 EX, and she told me that the engine revs to 3000 rpms when the clutch is disengaged. this only happens occasionally so i havent actually witnessed it, but i was wondering if anyone had a similiar problem or advice on what to check.

thanks in advance

Nope, I believe it is only the newer cars ('06 and up) with the DBW (drive by wire) feature.

Did they just install an intake? Saw an instance where a buddy installed an intake, damaged the throttle body, and it would rev randomly.

If not, stuck throttle for sure.
