I'm doing a head gasket on my '03 civic. It's a stock grocery-getter, but I live by the motto "you can't afford to by cheap stuff". So I'm looking for a good quality place to order my gaskets from. This is also my 3rd blown head gasket in 2 years (the other two were in a pathfinder) and at this point I would feel better knowing I put a quality, if not "performance" gasket on, just in case it is my aggressive driving that's causing this recurrence.

Also, what gaskets will I need, or should I replace while I'm at it? Here's my list so far:

Head
Intake
Valve Cover
Valve seals

I'll be replacing the bolts as well, but don't know where to get them either. I like ordering online. Is there a couple places that you guys all use most of the time for parts?

Just buy an OEM parts kit and call it a day. Piecing it together will only cost you more, and it will take you longer to find and buy each part individually. I'd shop around, though. Check eBay, sometimes there are OEM parts kits for surprisingly-less money.


Browse the Sponsor Marketplace, too. You might find some things you want to install while everything is already apart.





Have you checked the head to make sure it isn't warped? I highly recommend doing this before you reinstall it.

 

i will be sending it to a shop to be resurfaced and have the valves checked, and most likely reseated... or whatever you do to them.
