Default EM2 problems

my civic seems to be falling apart...maybe due to the lack of a good job...... 1-Anyway my tranny has an issue it make a crazy sound when the clutch is pushed. I was told it was a bearing but my second gear also does not go in all the time and 3rd grinds. thanks to my girl friend so I'm guessing I need a new tranny and clutch...? 2- when I put my civic on the freeway it tends to make a weired sound like somthing is speening around. I know that this is not normal but can not figure out what it is......? 3- I have headers with no down pipe so I custom mad ont to fit but my check engine light is on because there..is no cat so I know its the second OII sending a bad signal to the ecu. I need to install a cat but the stock OII won't reach is a ex OII longer then a lx.....? WTD

3. The catalytic converter is in a different location for the EX, when compared to the LX. So, a wire extension would be necessary.

2. It could be many things. Your tranny might be on it's last leg, causing all types of noises, or you could be having some radio interference, or who knows...

1. Clutch sounds like it's in need of repair, as well as the whole transmission. If you're having grinding sounds in third, and can't stay in second, it's needing some serious work.

Yeah it's time to get your tranny rebuilt from the ground up. You've got a bad bearing the name of which I can't remember for the life of me at the moment but any tranny shop will know exactly what it is. You need new synchros for sure, maybe main bearings if you're unlucky. May as well do the clutch and resurface the flywheel while you're in there. If you managed to break your tranny that badly your clutch is probly shot too.

I lost a main bearing at like 20k miles but honda warenteed it cause the rest of the inside of my tranny was pristine. They did of course threaten to void my warentee if they saw any evidence of me racing it. Which was funny because it ate the bearing at Buttonwillow lol. Of course I swore up and down it was never raced and that the Hoosiers on it were daily driven.

syncros prolly just need replaced and might be the main input shaft bearing,

syncros are cheap, like 50 bucks for them all, but a tranny place will charge a lot to replace them.

same with the bearing.

if the noise is when u push the clutch in its the throwout bearing if it when you let the clutch out it would be the input shaft bearing lot of info on 7thgencivic.com not just that there was a recall on those trans something to do with 2nd gear
