d17 turbo kit ?
ok so i know that the k20 is a way better option but 2 things. I dont have the funds. and i am up the the challege to bring our d series to the test. but wile reading on the turbo kit i ran acrosse this. and i was wondering if anyone knows why.
"# A'PEXi V-AFC II or S-AFC II (for non-VTEC Civics), A'PEXi Auto Timer, and Stewart Warner boost gauge. This option is more for customers who may be adding other components and want to do a custom tune on their kit. This option should not be used on D17A (7th Gen) Civics."

but what im asing is why do they say NOT to put this on your d 17 becasue i got one for free and i dont wanna spend money if i dont have to id rather out it into more parts.
Now are you talking about "why do they say NOT to put this on your d 17" in terms of using it as your tuning?
or in terms of just in general on the car for modding vtec?
Curiouz_G already told you why not to use it for boost, and you don't use it N/A because it just doesn't really do much and you see minimal gains and your better off selling it

i have the safc and i have a LX non v tech and they still say not to use it so hondata woudlent do much and i alreayd got the safc so like im wondering hwy the company say sit snot for m car when i dont see why not. i underatand its not as great at tuning but why do they say NOT to use it. liek will it blow my **** up?
They are saying not to use it because there is a very good chance that it won't give you the tuning capiblities you need to make your car run right. Listen to what Curiouz_G said. I can't think of any turbo d17 that is tuned on just a safc and there's a reason for it.

this is my opinion only , but by the time you get a turbo and everything needed for it to run properly and reliably on your D17 , you could have had a type S k20 in your car running or close to it. i own a D17A2 01 civic , and still have np problems telling you , its a dead end engine my man , dont waste money on it at all. garbage. save for a K swap dude. but lik ei said , thats my opinion.

Nice, first one I've heard of. How much boost are you running?

only 8-10psi right now not much. Getting ready to shoot it with N2O to see how much hp i can get before it blows. Trying to convince the wife to let me buy a K. I think a blown motor will do the trick, LOL!!!
some people just like the challenge of making something slow into something quicker. dont hate.
hey OKC03Civic, got any dyno charts? im interested in seeing what type of a/f ratios you have and some specs. not trying to knock on you or anything but i just havent seen anyone run anything below greddy emanage and have it running perfectly fine for a good period of time
