I just bought a Compustar security and remote start system for my car 2001 Civic LX.

Just wanted to know if anybody out there knows if my car has an immobilizer or not.

If so I hear that I need to by-pass that.

yup you need it its the DEI 556hw (if you get the universal 556uw you would need an extra key) or the new audiovox ASXK05

 

So you are saying that if i get the DEI product that you were talking about I wont even need an extra key? That is ideal because I only have 1 key with the chip
