I have a 02 honda civic and I try to turn the ignition over it acts like it wants to start but it revs up and dies...any ideas please?

 

Check the fuel relays behind the glove box and fuel pump. Any CEL on or any codes?

 

no code or lights on and has new fuel pump

 

You'll have to be more specific , you say it "wants to start but revs and dies " So it does start then , was that the original problem and you replaced the fuel pump hoping to fix it ? You can swap identical relays to see if one is the problem .
