Default Which size?

I have a 94 GRS and I want to ditch the stock 15's for some new wheels. Here is my delima...

I like the looks of the 17" wheel but I am worried that my ride quality will go to crap with the 40 series tires.

I was thinking of getting 16's with 45 series tires but I don't want to sink the money into the 16's and then change my mind later.

My teg is at stock ride height now but I plan to drop it 1.5" with some Illuminas. What do you think? Has anyone bought 17's and them regretted it?

Well, depends on what you want your car to be. 17"s more of the show look. 16"s more of the performance look and it's lighter than 17"s most often than not. 16"s tires would also be cheaper than 17" tires.

I didn't see any pics of your SSR's on your web site. Can you post some here or there? I'd like to get either the SSR GTi or Competitions when I upgrade my wheels. Size is still an issue though.

Thanks, Karl

I was having the same debate in my head as you are. I couldn't decide whether to go with 16's or 17's. I went with the 17's and couldn't be happier. I know they are heavier and will slow me down a bit but the looks are worth the loss of power. Besides if I want to go to the track I just slap on my steels. Reguarding ride quality it really isn't bad I attribute most of the harsh ride to my adjustable Tokikos set stiff. Hope this helps.

P.S. I have Coilovers and the drop is about 1.5 all around. If you want to see pics check out me site.

Price really isn't the issue. The difference is only about $100. I am worried about the ride quality. Will a 5% reduction in aspect ratio really be that noticable?

15s if you wanna go sleeper, semi-sleeper, or you have pothole mania
17s+ for show, not for serious racers (or get turbo to make up for them)
16s just right for me
