Default Hows this exhaust sound to you?

iam trying to buy some Exhaust. looking this and that..and i decide to get some quite, but gets good gain. so i decide to go with 2.5inch ES Oval muffler + Kteller 2.5" Stainless 94+ Integra Coupe Bolt Up with Resonator. there is 2options. 14inch and 18inch resonator.

whats better? will resonator slow down flow?

Total: $486.34 shipped kinda pricy

The longer the resonator the better lower sound you'll get. Most ricey exhausts have poor quality materials in their resonators, or no resonator at all, and coupled with a s ub 2 liter engine gives it that BRRRAAAAAAPFARTSQWEEEEEEE sound that everyone hates.

18" resonator with a straight through muffler is your best choice, if you want you can even replace your cat with a small resonator as well for ***** and giggles. Just make sure its not a glasspack, as t hose wear down over time.

I got my muffler and 18" resonator at performancepeddler.com. 59 shipped for SS magnaflow w/o tip an 38 shippe for SS resonator....but I really want an ES oval so do the KTeller and run with it

KTeller makes quality exhausts, I wouldnt think that they would use glasspacks. Most exhausts nowadays except for cheap ebay ones are steel wool etc packed. You can always email them but I believe theyd be using high quality parts.

You can always get the parts you want like I did and then have it custom made for you

KTeller is a good company, but the problem I see is that they dont sell a 2.5" stainless steel resonator, and you want stainless steel or it'll rust to hell. You can contact them and ask, or you can get this one here that I got:

http://www.performancepeddler....00333

which looks like this (top is my magnaflow for 58 shipped and bottom is the resonator for 40 shipped):

Resonators are straight through, you wont lose much at all besides a ticket from the cops when they don't hear one. I bet less than a hp loss. If youve ever seen a straight through magnaflow muffler, they look exactly the same...perforated metal tube that is surrounded by sound deadening material.

The link I provided would be exactly what you want (cheap price too, I believe), and a good muffler shop or local performance shop should do that for you cheap while you wait

some aftermarkets actually have 2 14" (ish) resonators on the b-pipe. it quites the exhaust done more than a single 18" resonator. i had my custom n1 setup without a resonator for a week, and it was loud and droned. after adding a single 18" it quieted the exhaust down a bit, but kept the deepness. it also removed any buzzy/tin can type of sound hope that helps

u could always just add a single 14" first on the b-pipe before the bend to the axle back, and if you think its too loud/raspy still add another 14" or shorter right after the cat (greddy EVO design). and viseversa, if its too quiet (i doubt it hahaha) u can always have it removed b/c really exhaust note is subjective to the owner so only you will really know how loud/quiet u like it

oh and about the resonator slowing down flow, i doubt u'll notice 1hp difference top end

the resonator definately wont make it buzzy at all. loud? it might be since everything is 2.5" coming out of the es, but loud is subjective. it will be quieter than lets say a tanabe racing medallion and definately deep
