i had this problem too. it was attacking pretty much my entire car. the best thing you can do to slow down the process is to maintain a nice coat of wax. the only cure is to havec the whole panel repainted
... that's what i had done and it looks really good now

I just bought a milano red car and the roof was oxidized pretty bad to the point where it was pink. By a clay bar, rubbing compund and a good wax and use it in that order. I saved my car big time. I wish I took before pictures because it made a hell of a difference. So far I only got to do that roof, trunk lid and hood. I still need to do the sides.
Nothing is sexier than touching a car that feels like smooth glass and reflects like a mirror.

you can find the clay bar at advance also. should be right next to the rubbing compund and the wax. USe the rubbing compund to get rid of the oxidized layer. The detailing clay bar is just an extra step to remove tree sap and fall out. I was never a detailing buff but after seeing the milano shine, I will invest in a porter cable.
this is what I did.
spray the quick detailing fluid on. use a lot in one area at a time.
rub the clay bar in a left to right motion. make sure it is very well lubricated so the bar won't stick.
wipe off with 100% cotton terry clotch towel.
use the rubbing/polishing compund in small area's at a time. DO NOT DO IT IN A CIRCULAR MOTION. go left to right or up and down. no need to press hard at all.
buff the compund off and wax.
I could have swore my paint was history but I saved it. today was the first day I took it out in the sun and its blingin!
Oh yeah, make sure you do it in the shade and that the cars surface is cold.

I did steps similiar to this a couple weeks ago and it seems like the oxidation still comes back quite quickly. Even a week after it seems like it oxidation is coming back and gives me the nerf to want to do it again. I seems to clay bar my car, polish and wax it atleast once a month in order to make it look semi good. I have a friend with the same color car as mine and similiar year and he waxs it like once every 3-4 months and his paint is no wear even comparable. His paint is far superior and I think the only hope is to repaint.
