Default Integra or Evolution???

So im in a bit of a dillema here...for some reason my parents keep trippin about my car. they say that its time for me to move on and get a new car. i've had my car for about 6 years!! its my first car and as many of you know its hard to let it go. especially when you put so much hard work into it. my parents think that i should upgrade and get something better and safer for the winter. They think that im just wasting my money on my car so i might as well be paying for something new. I would love to get a new car no doubt about it but its just hard to let it go. The only car that i really kinda want is an EVO 9..so out of no where last week my friend asks me if i would sell him my car. he offered me $9,000..its a pretty good deal. my car has a 2001 type r motor, interior, mom quick release etc.. and he really wants it. but i dont know i've been thinkin about it for days non stop and giving my self head aches haha to make it worse my parents told me to put down those 9gs and they will pay the rest of the car i'll just have to pay them back..my grandma got in a bus accident on her way here from MExico last year and she got like 50,000 for damages. so my parents said they would use some of that money to pay the rest for me, i would just pay them back monthly.

my question is to you guys. what would you do? or to the people that have done any regrets? i love hondas like a fat kid love cake!! thats why its harder decide. heres some pics of my car. Sorry for making it Soo long.

nice. i say get that evo! some people just needs to change in life. you cant always keep it the same way for the rest of your life. plus, evos... you wont have to worry about as much, from it being stolen.

also, if you have the opportunity to sell it, then just sell it. because im having a hard time selling my car, especially for a price thats close to yours. plus, you'll most likely be happier when you change. i say give it a try

Why not keep the Integra and then buy something far cheaper than an Evo for a daily, say a Subaru or a 4x4 pickup that would be good in the winter?

Do it. If you miss it, you can always buy another one later.

I was faced with the same dilemma in March. My '98 GSR was getting high in mileage and I had plans to invest a fair amount of money into it over the winter and early spring, and then my parents told me they thought I was wasting my money putting it into a car that was almost 10 years old and suggested considering a new car that I would put some money down on and just like you pay them back.

At first I didn't even want to think about giving up my GSR which was my first car but the more and more I thought about a new car i started to like the idea. And once i test drove a few new or slightly used cars I was liking the idea more and more.

At the end of March I ended up returning my GSR to as close to stock as possible and selling the car and buying an '07 Si coupe, because after giving it much thought I knew if i was gonna get a new car i definitely still wanted to stay in a Honda and the Si fit the bill perfectly. Not to mention it ended up being just as much if not cheaper then financing a '05 or '06 RSX Type S because of Hondas incentive and better interest rates on new car loans compared to used car loans.

Anyways, the moral of the story is I will always miss my teg and still think about getting another one down the road as a second car but I have really grown to love my new car and don't regret getting a new car, but thats just me. Me personally I certainly don't think I could deal with selling my GSR to a friend, but then again if you know its going to a good home thats always god. My GSR went from being clean and simple to riced out in the hands of a High Schooler.

go with your gut. 9 g's is not a bad deal at all, and you will have to let go sooner or later and most likely for less money. If you really like hondas, then buy another, but newer, one. If you want to venture out and try a non honda, then do it. Go with your gut.

NOt spoiled at all man, watchu talkin about?? the money is coming from a Bus accident that my grandparents were in..they offered to help me out. i actually feel bad for taking the money, if i were to do it.

most of my friends said to do it but my brother is the only one so far that says no, because of all the hard work and time that i have put in..

i guess the hardest thing for me would be to see it driven away by another person. my parents keep tellin me to get over it, you cant be so attached to materialistic things..but like will smith said "parents just dont understand"

Grow up.

I say you do it, its winter time, and i know i wouldnt drive my car in this again. I always loved evo's. Even though it has sentimenal value, you can always pickup another and build it how you want down the road. Just my .02$
