Default HID question

im thinking about getting mccoullouch HIDs and am wondering if anyone has gotten these before. are they a good brand to get? are there any drawbacks to getting HID's? which one's will give me a more blue light?

Here is a K2 6000k hid kit on a integra on the Right

The car on the left is a S500 with factory HID

I wouldn't get anything higher then 4000k, above that it looks purple to me and you don't get as much usable light. You might want to IM MTK Kommander. He is a wiz when it comes to HID.

i just hope that pic doesnt fool anyone into thinking 6000K is brighter than 4300K OEM HID.. because halogen headlights, such as the ones on that inegra.. put out 2 bright hot spots.. as you see there.. where as the OEM HID on the benz is going to be basically a wide blanket of light.. white light..meaning it wont die out to the sides and you get a much farther reach.. also, to other drivers, the 6000K kits on projector headlights wont give you that audi or bmw look like all the advertisements say.. even my good friend Eric Dickerson has the McCulloch 6000K kit on his integra with the OEM HID front end.. and a couple weeks ago, he finally realized why i hate 6000K when he drove his friends integra with the same front end, with the OEM 4300K bulbs.. he said there is a huge difference..

but to answer your question.. if you want purple light, go with the mcculloch 6000K kit, or the philips ultinon.. i know the philips kit has more lumens, but both kits are of good quality.. the only complaint i have with mcculloch is the light seems to kinda flutter when u look at it facing a wall or another surface.. other than that, their kits are good, and easy to install..my only complaint is the unnecessary color temperature..

5000k will give you that blue light you want in halogen housings. The 5000k Mcculoch kit retains very usable white light, while emitting that wanted Xenon blue most people crave for. Only drawback to getting H.I.D. is I guess in Civics and such you lose your high beam function. Either way the H.I.D. will over-power them.

sup guys, i tried putting in some philips 4300k in my 95 accord and it produced a hella lotta glare. so what i decided to do is get some x5 projectors and retroed them into my oem headlights. The results were amazing, never going back to halogens again haha!
