Default finally..

tonight me and my buddy are going to tackle taking my tint off. I ******* hate it, Im sick of driving around my non-lit neighbourhood with gayass tint running into parked cars. Well not really, but it could happen with my dark *** tint. Any suggestions for taking off the rear tint?

thanks..

the front windows are down, but its 20% all around and like 15% in the rear, I got it when I got hte car, it came with it.

I know how to take tint off, I just dont want to ruin my rear defrost, just wondering some tips about the rear, the rest is simple.

I know your suppose to use heat gun for putting the tint on, what about taking it off? I have one in my garage somewhere

my advice is to not try and remove the rear window, the smallest scrape can mess up the rear defrosters. If you do try it, I've heard spraying ammonia over the entire window and seal it with a plastic bag, let sit 30 mins, and it should come off in one huge sheet. Good luck either way

I've removed rear tint from about 7 or 8 Honda rear hatches, and have never had a problem with ruining the defroster. I just took my time, used a few razorblades, and Windex or alcohol along with a hair dryer to get rid of it. Take your time, and pay attention to what you're doing, and you shouldn't have any problems.

Use some kind of Ammonia based cleaner. For my tint I used Simple Green. It worked beautifuly. I started a small spot with a razor blade, then sprayed simple green to dissolve the glue. It worked good on my rear window too. I didn't lose any of my defroster lines. Just spray the cleaner on the seam between the tint and the glass as you pull it off.

a razor, and some time. myself and jdm saint took off the two rear windows and the back window in about 2 hours with just razors. the trick is to get a corner, and then pull it slowly so it stays in one peice/a few large peices.

1. blow dry it
2. peel off
3. goo- gone or any adhesive remover
4. razor to take off the gunk

back one would be tricky since of the defrost lines

ok man, i had to do this to 2 of my cars when i bought them. luckily a friend of mine tints for a living and he told me the best way to do it.

1. just pull the tint off, do not heat it up
2. spray your window down with glass cleaner WITH amonia in it (soak it!)
3. scrape it off with a razor blade (comes off real easy actually)
4. for the rear window use a fine grade brillo type pad, not an actual brillo pad but you know what i meen. like steel wool kinda, they have it at hardware stores. this will keep from screwing up your rear defrost.

i did it this way on both my cars and had no problems at all. both were hatches and had each one done in under an hour

defrost still worked too

okay, !! blow dryer works if you like to burn your fingers..

i been handling tint for years.. and it's very very simple..!!! SOAP and WATER, that's it!!..

Get a box of razor blades (homedepot has 100blades for 5 bux) get urself a spary bottle.. Pour some dishwasher soap (palmolive) and warm/hot water..

Take the razor to the corner, and try to LIFT UP a small/med part. . then just peel the tint off..

The glue may stay w/ the tint, but in most cases it will stay on the window..

Just spray the soapy-water on the window.. wait 3/5sec and start to scrap off.. !!

ThAt's it!! no speical liquids or anything.. just soapy water...

FOR THE REAR

DO NOT USE a razor for the rear widow, you will cut up the deforst lines.. . instead.. use the razor to lift up a small/med piece on any corner of the rear window and peel the tinit off..

Then after that spray the hell out of it w/ SOAPY WATer and use a BRUSH to brush off the glue.. DO NOT USE A WIRE BRUSH, it has to have brissles (sp?) like a tooth brush, the softer the better..

Youre suppose to use a razor and cut out pieces of the film in the back to prevent from messin up your defroster, its very time consuming. If u go on team-integra.net theres an article on there that will tutor u. In my case, i just paid the guy 50 bucks to remove my ****.
