Default CTR headlights

i found this picture in the DIY CTR headlights thread and really wanted to know if anyone could tell me what is the exact paint color, what brand and where to get it? if anyone could let me know, that would be awsome. these are the best DIY CTR lights i have seen and i want to duplicate the color, it is so close to the real thing. thanks for any info.

i tried to pm him and ask, but never got a response.

yeah i wish the guy who posted that in the thread mentioned the color/brand of paint he used. this would be tommarows project for me...

he mentioned it's chromed gunmetal but I want to know what brand he used. Also, this guy might have developed his own techinque so it's better off if he does a DIY (I know there's a lot out there already but nothign compares to this). PM OPHDEHEEZY

the only thing close to that is tamiya(sp) smoke chrome tint paint, used for painting RC cars but its like 20 bucks for a small *** can, looks like one of those shorty shasta soda cans with like 6 oz's in it.

try tamiya smoke. since the real CTR's are "black chrome", if u smoke the existing chrome, the effect should be the same

that might work, good idea, i just dont want to ruin my headlights if that doesnt workout. not going to test it out on my only set, but thanks for the suggestion.

its not a theory, someone did it and it looked exactly like the real ones besides the orange reflector. if u search theres extensive threads on how to do it.
