Default Tire size question...

I have 07 4cyl accord EX. I went from the OE tire size 205/60/16 91V to 205/55/16 91H on stock alloys. I realize that the speed rating is a notch down not that I would drive that fast anyways, but am I going to do any damage to my car running these shorter and slightly wider tires? Any comments appreciated...Thanks

It shouldn't cause any harm since you only made a slight change in tire size. The speedometer will read slightly faster, the ride will be a little harsher.

no damage... but you MAY feel the road more. that can either be a good thing or bad, depending on your desires.

Think about resale value of your car also. I'm not going to use exact numbers so don't quote me on it.

Let's say you travel 50,000 miles on these tires, your odo would show 4,500 more miles than actual.

Thanks guys. I do like the stiffer ride. The car drives a bit more responsive/crisper turn in in the corners.

Anyone have a suggestion of a larger width tire size that will match the stock 205/60/16 overall height on my 2004 V6? Looking to stay as close to the overall diameter of stock but have a wider footprint. Anyone done this and if so, which size did you go with?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Galco

With 60 profile tires, I would not go any higher, so therefore, you best choice will be 215/55/16. It's kind of an odd size, so it might be expensive-harder to find.

I would consider 17" wheels. Many Gen 8 Accord guys are selling their OEM wheels (for cheap).
