Hello: I have searched for idle vibration threads and couldn't find one that quite matched my condition so here goes:

Well, I got 286,500 miles out of my original 4-Cyl motor and transmission. No leaks, no issues with performance, however, the motor started burning about 2 quarts of oil per week and
the trans was making a whining noise, so I had a trusted mechanic replace my original motor and trans with a v-tech 40K motor and and 70k trans.

Everything works great except there is now a significant (but not horrible) steady vibration at idle. The original engine and trans mounts were all broke and so they were replaced with new.

The vibration is the same whether in Park, Reverse, Neutral or Drive, while at idle.

The motor sounds fine and there is no engine light on to indicate a problem. Idle is set approx. 700 RPM and is steady.

Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting or what the problem might be would be greatly appreciated.
