Default Wheel Offset?

Ok
I have a questions about the wheel offset.

My Acccord came with 55 offset.

Some rims I like are 45 offset.

Could someone fill me in on what this means?
Thanks

The +45 wheels will stick farther outboard 10mm more than the +55 wheels.

The 17x7 HFP wheels that a lot of people like are +45. This is true of both the old five spoke Silver Star wheels and the new-for-2006 seven spoke wheels.

Provided you don't get silly with the tyre sizes, you should be just fine with the +45 wheels.

Feel free to tell us what wheels you're looking at. I'm sure a lot of people would be interested.

The 18" are a little pricey. It's also hard to find them w/out the tyres already on them, because they usually arrive at the dealers that way, ready to be installed on the new FG2 as a part of its HFP options package.
