Default What else to replace while doing the Shocks/Struts?

So, i won these new tokico illumina shocks/struts for $175 on ebay from a guy who got rid of his car before putting them on .

The struts/shocks are being used with OEM springs, overkill i guess, but for $175 cant beat it. What other parts are suggested to replace while doing the swap? front and rear strut/shock mounts? what else?

Thanks in advance.

Sometimes you end up needing to cut the mounting bolts out because the are froze to the bushings. In which case you would need to get new bolts, and possibly new bushings.

That is all I can think of. Have fun.

I sent you a PM.

replace all bushings. lower ball joints, upper control arms, sway bar bushings, inner & outer tie rods. they're like $139 shipped for the whole kit and it makes your car ride like brand new again.

I got that kit already

I was just asking what to replace strictly related to the shocks/struts.

There's more to it, on any car... I want to know if it is suggested to replace the strut/shock mounts.... Have you ever replaced shocks on any car? struts/shocks connect to mounts, which then connect to the chasis in some form or fashion.

check the upper rubber mount, the piece gets hammer all the time.

check the bumpstop, not very likely need replacement if your car is stock height.

i think the bolt is pressed into the top hat, unless it's stripped, don't bother.

the top hat nuts you could replace if they are rounding off, make sure get some automotive grade replacement, not home depot zinc construction stuff.

There is a lot of stuff you can check out while you're down there. suspension, brakes, and cv joint boots. Might as well clean the back side of the wheels and rotate the tires.
