Default vtec headers vs normal headers

I am in the market of buying headers for my 97 acoord ex. I was researching and is shows that I might need different headers because my car has the vtec. Is that true or will headers for vtec be the same a non vtec. Also does anyone have some input on what else i should do to my accord on a limited budget. I currently have,
Front strut, Cold air intake, headers, full body kit, fresh paint job.
Thanks.....

The headers are different.

It seems your leaning towards show rather than go with the kit and paint job. It depends on what you want, if its just going to be your daily driver then just do the simple bolt ons. If you want to be fast, I don't think its worth it to work on an Accord but you could drop in an H22 and if your rockin an auto, get a tranny swap. Your in the market of buying headers but you say you already have headers... ??

Thanks for the input, and yeah this accord will be a daily driver, so i dont want anything to outrageous. I have not bought the headers yet, I recentley heard that honda did a good job with the stock exhaust manifold for the vtec ex. Do you think it is worth buying headers.

Hey ping, I also own a '97 ex let me say this, the 2.2 SOHC VTEC is capable of over 200hp without a turbo or supercharger. I built one and there is nothing like having a sleeper at the stop lights - no one expects an accord to tear off the way it does.

The factory header is all right if you don't plan on spending thousands on mechancal engine upgrades such as: cam, intake manifold, fuel pressure, pistons, head milling, just to name a few. I did some pretty serious motor and ECU upgrades that most wouldn't have bothered to do for an accord. But if you want to upgrade the looks under the hood than an aftermarket header is one way to do it. You can pickup a set on ebay for around $100.00. You will gain some horsepower, but it won't be too noticable.

dont waste your money buying a header.(notice how you only need one? thats because your motor is an inline 4)

and id like to see this 200whp accord with 'thousands of dollars' in the engine. the only person ive heard of building an F series, and making any real power out of it is bisi.
