Single Wiper Conversion
Ok here's where I wait a minute while everyone blasts me for bringing up a ricey topic... so go ahead...
so anyway... I saw online some guy who did a single wiper conversion on a fifth gen and it actually looked nice. Not that I want to do it but I just want to know more about it. He actually milled out part of the metal peice thats fits below the windsheild and under the rear lip of the hood (can't think of the name for it right now) so that the wiper would be able to make a full 180 degree turn. Thus the wiper stayed in the normal position when not in use and was able to clean the whole window. None of that wiper sitting in the middle of your windsheild when its not in use. I assume this required modification of the wiper motor and assembly as well.. What do you guys think.

what i know.. take the longer one.. think its the passenger side.. look where it connects to the hood .. on the car.. right below your windsheild.... there are places for it to be mounted.. remove where it is.. and move it to the next one.. almost in the middle.. then take the arm and push or screw the thing in the middle.. not sure if its a button or screw.. it should be able to extend about another inch or two.. put in all back.. try that.. thats what i ve heard.. never did it though
I think its a dumbass idea... it gives you no advantages over 2 blades, and it looks dumb. If anything it won't work as well, because making a 180 degree turn will take 1.5-2 times longer than the two stock blades which make around 100-120 (I'm guessing) degree turns, assuming each are moving at the same speed.

One windsheild wiper looked cool back in the day when rolling on chrome 3 spokes was cool.
I value my site in a rainstorm. IMO, it really is illegal I believe and cops should ticket you for **** like that. You shouldn't be messing with safety equipment.
