Default Simple solution, to a very complex problem

For the past three weeks my car (03 EX V6) has been doing some strange things. About twice a week when I would start the car, the shift position lights on the gauge cluster were not lighting up (P,R,N,D, etc). When the lights were not working, the A/C would blow, but the air was not cold (compressor not working). I have the Service Manual, so I started searching for possible links between shift position lights and A/C operation. First I tried the self diagnostic for the gauge cluster, but nothing came up. After some extensive reading I decided to try the self diagnostic on the Multiplex Integrated Control System (MICS). This revealed like 7 or 8 codes displayed on the odo screen for various systems that to my knowledge were not even malfunctioning. More and more reading. Finally, I got to the point where the flowchart said to test the battery. Bad Battery was the cause of the whole situation.

What made this so difficult is the battery/charging system lights never came on, and the car would have no trouble starting. Sure was a lot of reading, and testing/diagnosing to find out the battery was weak. I was about to take the car to the dealer so I guess my service manual just paid for itself.

ha, cool you found it out. My friend had something crazy like this happening to his Prelude. The windows and door locks would act crazy. We pulled apart the car so many times. In the end, we found out that it was one fuse that was not in fully.
