Default Radio Code

I just bought an accord for my daughter, the battery seemed weak and I had a nearly new one here to put in it....so I did, simple right ?
Well now it appers it has lost it's radio codes, I just bought this car a week ago
from a local used car dealer,it appers to have been very well maintained but there
is no owners manual in the dash or anything that a code is on.
Am I screwed as far as ever resetting it ? or getting it working again ?

make sure you have title and current registration otherwise they are gonna send you packing...for 6th gen and newer cars they even require it for making keys.....

Thanks alot
So far this site is very helpful.....I'll prob be using it alot.
Also I read since posting , I'll have to take the radio out to get the numbers off of it
true or not ?
If so is it an all day job or quite simple, since i got her the car its not home much
for me to look at how big of a job it is.
The car has 192 km on it ,so I booked it in Monday for a timing belt change
since I don't know if it's been changed, the Honda dealer quoted me 425.00
for the belt change and water pump .
Does this sound reasonable ?
Thanks again

You may want to search this subject. I can remember someone saying you can hold down the #1 and #6 buttons on the radio, and it will display the serial #. I can't remember the exact proceedure. Good luck. You may want to just call the nearest dealer, and ask them what you need to get the code. Before going down there to find out you don't have what you need.

Open the glove box. Look on the left side with it open, They started putting them there also. This is do to ALL the lost codes!

What year is your Accord?

And I've heard conflicting stories on whether you need the serial number off of the back of the radio or if the VIN is enough - the radio on my '99 LX doesn't use a code which is fine by me.

You may want to just upgrade to a good aftermarket radio at this time, you can pick up nice CD/MP3 players for $175 to $250 or so. Check out the Alpine CDA 7896 for $199 (kit and harness included, if needed) from Crutchfield:
