Problems never end..
Okay here's the story I'm sitting at a "RED" light behind this suburban aka school bus, and this moron throws it in reverse. So I see him do so and beep my horn a few times, now we all know you can hear a Honda horn since they are squeaky and obnoxious. But this moron floored it in reverse and ended up on my hood. He put a hole in the bumper and a dent in my hood. What will it cost on an estiamted guess to get a new bumper and have it painted along with the hood? I will be going through the insurance company because this guy was too shady to trust to just settle up with him. Any help on this would be appreciated..
Reshaping a hood and painting it is like $200. A new bumper can be found on hondaautomotiveparts.com, but fixing yours and repainting should also be around $200. Dont quote me on that, a picture would help. Would about grill and headlights?
The grill is fine from what I can see. The bumper has a nice hole about 6-8 inches long and about 4 inches high right above the right turn signal which was also smashed. Along with a nice gash right near the lisence plate. As for the hood above the right head light has about a 6 inch line about an inch deep over the right head light with a nice dent in the head light housing. I have to take it to get estimates tomorrow, going to hit up the honda service center, they should have the broom handles ready to rape me, but whatever I wont have to pay a dime. Also since I don't go around getting into accidents will insurance just pay me based on the estimate or do I have to have the work done before they pay out? Because if they pay out based on an estimate I'm going with a carbon fiber hood, hell it aint my insurance making the payout..
dude...i got hit by a suburban not too long ago as well...only it was some lady that didn't know that the road had two lanes and she decided that she would just move me out of the way with her bus...but she put a dent in my rear panel between the gas tank and fender well that was only about 7 inches long and maybe 1/2 inch deep...the two estimates for this was $530 and $820...and...usual me...thinking this lady would be likely to be honest i trusted her to settle so she gave me all of her insurance info and i proceeded to go to her insurance company and give them the estimates...they thanked me and assured me that all of it would be "taken care of promptly" (they actually said that)...but...later that night i got a call from some police officer and she said that the lady who hit me came in and wanted to file a police report on the accident...so i went in along with my dad and the police officer asked us what happened...the other lady said that she never hit me at all and i just stopped her and said she hit me...what a bitch!!!!....
...but anyways...it ended up going to her insurance company and they called me and got a recording of my side of the story...about a month and a half ago we got a letter from ohio casualty (her insurance company) saying that they weren't going to pay...but my great insurance company being the good people they are (haha) took her insurance company to court and sued for liability claims and won...i ended up with an extra $400 just for complications in the matter...so all in all i think i came out on top in that one...sorry for the long post...all i really was gonna say is that for a small dent in my rear panel it was between 500 and 800 dollars...so i'd say for your situation expect around 1000...and if their insurance is payin for it...make sure you go someplace good that will be expensive and do the job right!!!

and oh yeah...about the above...the police weren't called because it wasn't necessarily $800 worth of damage (the legal amount that the police have to come) so that's why the police were not called to give an accident report at the scene...and they said since there was time that i drove the car between the time of the accident and that time...all of the evidence on the car would probably be gone...so there really wasn't proof of her hitting me which sucked *****!!!!

I have some bad news for you, don't be suprised to get a letter in then mail that you are getting sued for rear ending the guy... NEVER leave an accident without the police being there, it's your word against his.... who hit who? Was it the guy standing still? or the guy that pulled up behind him too fast and rear ended his truck causing horrible neck trauma that will only be helped by a couple thousand dollar settlement. And unless it's absolutely necessary never move your car from an accident site... Too many people get burned this way. Hopefully it was an honest mistake but sounds really shady to me.
well i got an accident report from some very bastardly nypd that where trying to talk me out of filing a report due to they're sheer laziness. so anyways i got the report. this moron was standing still at the light as was i behind him about 5-10 feet behind him when he decided it was a good idea to back up to get gas, only last i checked my front end was'nt a full service amoco station. i also had 2 people in the car that saw everything, as did he. but i would say his witnesses are'nt to credible since they did'nt have id's when the cops asked for them and mine did. although i'm guessing these two hoodlums had prior records for something they where hiding b/c once i called the cops these bastards put up about 10 air fresheners so i would say they where smoking a blunt in the car or something.. i dunno just my luck go to pick up a girl that lives in a co-op city on my way out for a night of clubbin and i get screwed.!
i know this isnt answering your post but i have to tell yall this.....so my senior year in HS last year and we have assigned parking....anyways..the girl next to me hits my car parking!! she doesnt tell anyone but my friend behind me..she saw it and left me a note on my car...well blah blah blah...got everything settled...her dad didnt want to go through insurence...he was just gonna pay for it..so i took it to a couple places and they all quoted bout $650-800...the guy didnt want to pay for it and he said he knew this guy who would do it for about $400...i was like hell no...but i needed my car cuz i was alread w/o a car for about a week cuz i couldnt open the pass. side door and my fender was rubbing my tire...so to make a long story short even tho this is pretty long neways....the job didnt turn out as perfect and how i wanted it...but next time this wont happen...but hopefully it wont happen again
NYCAccord, what color is your car? If it's a metallic finish, then the body shop will need to blend in the other panels to match the paint. All metallic finishes are pretty much unique, so if you want it to look "right," you'll need to have the body shop blend the fenders.
So you got a the police report that state the guy reverse and hit you right? Cuz if you didn't I I hope you have some witness who saw you accident that was NOT IN THE SAME CAR as you. If he goes tell his insurnace company that you hit him, guess what, they will believe him because he is in the front and you are in the back. So I hope that police report you got was good.
