Default Problem with Ignition

Ok. Here's what happen... few days ago I try giving a friend a boost on his battery, but unfortunately nothing happen coz his battery is too old and I suggest he gets a new one.

Fast forward now... when I start my car by turning the key it will start then dies not even for 2 sec. then I did it again but works this time. Its like when you turn the key halfway and that does not do nothing only a little ignition and that it. its not cranking This thing happens 3x.

My battery is 10 months old.

After you have done fixing something in this car another one pops out.

Any idea what is the problem here?

It does seem that way, doesn't it? Chasing one thing after another....
You may be running afoul of either a bad Igniton Switch (electrical portion) (recall*) or a bad main relay. It sounds like the fuel pump isn't cycling when first started.

refer:

* TSB 02-031

September 24, 2002
Applies to:
See VEHICLES AFFECTED

Safety Recall:
Ignition Switch

(Supercedes 02-031, dated September 17, 2002)

BACKGROUND

Electrical contacts in the ignition switch can wear prematurely due to high electrical current passing through the switch. Worn out ignition contacts could cause the engine to stall without warning. Although the engine will restart in most cases, a vehicle that stalls while driving increases the risk of a crash.

VEHICLES AFFECTED
-1997 Honda Accord (L4)
-1995-99 Honda Accord (L4 and V6)
-1995-00 Honda Civic
-1997 Honda CRV
-1997-00 Odyssey
-1997-99 Honda Prelude

Not every vehicle in the years and models listed above is affected by this campaign. Before beginning work, verify that the vehicle is eligible by checking at least one of the following.

-The customer has a notification letter.
-The vehicle is shown on your campaign responsiblity report.
-The vehicle is shown as eligible on a DCS or iN (Interactive Network) VIN Status Inquiry

CUSTOMER NOTIFICATION

All owners of affected vehicles will be sent a notification letter of this campaign. An example of the customer notification is at the end of this service bulletin.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Replace the electrical (ignition) switch

The 02-031 does not appear to apply to a 1990 Honda CRX Si V1.6L => Is there a service bulletin that applies to this year-make-model for a bad ignition switch?

You guys are posting in a thread about an ignition switch and still have not decided to check the ignition switch ?

Take off the lower steering column cover and look at the switch. If it looks burned replace it. If it smells burned replace it.

I took my car to a shop and they told me I needed a whole new distributer. I'll have to ask them why I just can't replace ignitor. Thank's for the advice of checking my igniton, think I'll have it towed home. Hopefully that will do it.
