i agree turbo but is there any reason why not to do a supercharger? it's constant power unlike the turbo where it spools and "unspools". it seems like a supercharger would be safer...assuming the motor can handle the psi it's at (same issure with the turbo tho). just curious

I love superchargers. Its why Honda tuning companies like Mugen or Spoon don't always use turbos for Honda motors. It's because of VTEC.... you have to lower the vtec engagements. Which is not really good if you don't know what you're doing.

Turbo is the only ones we have for our old Accords. Maybe nos.

well i think i have two options for next year. 1) try to build for a turbo/supercharger (i really want that supercharger haha i'll find it lol) 2) use that money for a new car instead, preferrably a 3rd gen rx7 even tho they're mad expensive...so i might settle for a second gen.

Why are superchargers and issue with v-tec? I dont really get how they work i know how turbos work and i know they are similar to turbos but don't use exhaust but beyond that idk?

Well superchargers are constant power. It's just constant rate of air going in. Because it is working off a pulley. A turbo in some cases are not constant flow of air. As you see in most videos, with turbos. when you reach VTEC, there is a bigger lift in the valve. And all those air produced from the turbo just rushes in. Wheel spinning all of the sudden, not too great.

I think it would be better if VTEC was either on all the time( new cams) or no vtec at all. Then turbo might be good.

I dont know how they did it with the Acura RDX. Well it is a small turbo. Maybe more constant flow.

id say turbo.. cause i already did.

side note about the vtec+turbo comment above, the non-vtec cam isn't the same as the low rpm lobes on a vtec one is it?

what I know you all got some time hear but supper chargers better then turbo???????>?>>

>>

what ???????????????
sorry super chargers are hell-a limited. turbo, if you actually match the turbine size to the motor then your more or less set for your complete power band. yes this means you need to learn about your motor, and and some basic equations, but believe me turbo is a lot stronger. also do a search, and first revive a post.

Ok fellas, I promise I am not here to start any trouble (I need help) and want to know who to talk to here on the forums. I USED to drive an 05' SRT4 modded. I was running low 13's here in Utah, on a good night.

BUT.......... I have now purchased an 03' Accord coupe v6 6speed (bought a house, needed somthing more reliable) I am looking to have some fun with it. OTHER then boost (its a given) what are going to be some mods that will help me get started? Im not a ricer so Im not looking for the obvious things like, CAI, Exhaust, blah blah blah, I mean is throwing a turbo kit on this car giong to be the best thing, what other supporting mods will I need? Is it possible to get into 13's without spending $65406406.00. Im just looking for a new adventure. . . .

Sorry for the long question, im not trying to jack this thread.

of course it is possible in any, and I mean any car, hell even a moped, to go low 13's with out spending $65406406.00. to get a v6 03 accord into the 13's without boost, nitrous, and a built motor and trans only about 20 grand.
hahahahahaha, just kidding
with your 3300lb car having 240hp@ 6250 I would think that your goal is reachable yet there is not much support for the v6 as far as I have heard. I forgot to say 212tq@ 5000, yet both of those are at the crank.

Can anyone else chime in here, what supporting mods am I going to need? I mean if I put a turbo kit (IM, EM, etc.) Exhaust, Upgraded Fuel mods, FMIC, what else am I going to need, do these engines need engine work done to push a good volume of boost?

Oh, and what is a good site to price these things? is there a for sale thread?

yeah you wana put the BOV as close to the throttle body as possible so the rest the charge piping can stay decently pressurised, as too big of a FMIC can cause turbo lag to an extent
