Default Overheating Problems

I was driving around yesterday and I noticed that my temperature gauge was running abnormally high. I checked my radiator resevoir and noticed that the fluid in there was below the minimum so I filled that to right under the max. I have an aftermarket autometer temp gauge that normally reads 210 but yesterday was getting up to 230(1hr of driving)....thats not cool . I am thinking a radiator flush might be in order and I have about 138,000 miles. Any and all help will be appreciated.

is your system holding pressure?

it could be several things

1. water pump failure
2. clog somewhere
3. head gasket (unlikely)
4. bad thermostat
5. fan failure (bad relay wiring or fan)

I would check everything out
