My apologies! it is right next to the headers to the left right off that radiator hose the pictures if of a 1990 accord

it should be right ontop or next to the thermostate there should be a plug around there.

Step one Locate Thermostate
Step two look for a plug somewhere near it
and replace that plug it would help a hella lot for u if you picked up a haynes manual so you wont make any mistakes.

i have a 94 accord f22b2 so i am not sure what kind engine u got either F22a4 or F22a6

Best of luck to you! email me if you still have anyquestions im still a trial user and its a killer max post of 5 lol

the second picture where it shows the headers ,, and a red circle ,, that switch is to make the fans come on after engine is shot off and underhood temp is too high,,,,,,,,and once again that is not where the t-stat is located,,,follow the lower rad hose to the engine,,where hose goes in, t-stat is inside that housing ,

If that hose is ever cold after the car is warmed up or overheating, then the problem is that the thermostat is not opening. The fans will not turn on because the coolant isn't getting past the closed thermostat to tell the fan switch to turn the fans on. The fan switch sits behind the thermostat so the fan switch doesn't get hot so it doesn't tell the fans to turn on. You can change the thermostat out, which is located in the housing at the end of the lower long radiator hose. If you want to just test that the thermostat is the problem, you can take apart the housing and take out the thermostat and put the thermostat gasket back in and run the car without the thermostat in the car and see if your car either overheats or the fans turn on. Just keep an eye on the gauge if it gets above 1/2 without the fans turning on then the there is a problem with either the fan switch or the fans themselves. If your fans come on when the key is off when the engine is hot then you know the problem isn't the fan, it's the fan switch on the thermostat housing. However, if the car runs fine and the fans turn on then you know it's the thermostat.

There are essentially three coolant temperature sensors. One is at the thermostat housing, one is by the distributor by another sensor that relays the coolant in your engine to the temperature gauge in your car and a third is at the outlet housing at the end of the short top radiator hose. The short radiator hose temperature sensor turns the fans on when you turn off your key but they turn the fans one when the coolant reaches a higher temperature than the one on the thermostat housing. I have never checked the sizes of the threads of all three but I assume that if they are the same there is a chance you could be putting the wrong one in the thermostat housing and it might not be turning on at the correct temperature.

You always gotta be sure you're buying the correct one. At aftermarket stores, they usually have a spot in the description that says where each sensor is located. You should be sure to get the correct one.

My 2k accord overheated today. Coolant drained from the resevoir, coolant also splashed around the rear of the engine compartment. Only one fan works when I turn on the air condition. After it cooled for about 20 mins, I felt the radiator cap which was unusually cool compared to the rest of the engine. Looked in the radiator and it too now is empty. Don't think it was empty the first time I checked it. So is my fan broke? Or is it the t-stat, switch ???? I'm thinking this will not be a quick fix.

Obviously, something broke, either a hose, or the radiator. If you can't figure out what broke by simply looking it over, I would fill it back up, start it up and look for the leak.

Hey thanks for your reply. So I filled it up with more coolant and found a hole in one of the hoses. Bought the part and replaced it. Car still over heats. Been pits stopping to and from the autostore today. Ran some wires to the radiator fan and found that its not working. Bought the fan and had to take it back because it was the wrong side. Thanks a lot, Went to another parts store and got the motor for the fan but its now rubbing against the radiator. Guess I need to start over.

I figured this out today, if I run the AC, the fan for the AC unit keeps the car temp down. But now, my AC isn't blowing cold air. When I was installing the new hose earlier today, I pulled out a wire under the distributor from the socket. Put it back in but could this be why the air cond is not blowing cold air? Or would it start blowing cold air when I get the other fan going?

Also, should I do a complete radiator flush when I get it running perfectly again? Thought I remember reading somewhere that you should always use Honda coolant when your bone dry etc etc to prevent rust. Didn't have that option. Had to grab what I could today. Thanks in advance

Can someone tell me how the setup is for the two fans on my 2000 Honda Accord. I got the motor replaced and both fans run only when the air condition is on. If I leave the AC off, the radiator fan never comes on. Something may not be wired correctly.

It's probably the fan switch/sensor behind the distributor on the thermostat housing. When that switch gets hot it tells the fan to turn on. Replace that. Make sure you get the correct one from the parts store. It will be "fan switch, thermostat housing". Ask for it just like that.

Also, walmart sells coolant 50/50 prediluted mix for like 7 bucks. Just get a couple jugs of that. It's Supertech.
