well if you didn't have one before you did it i would say yes. and there is other killswitchs you can do that are just as effective that don't involve messing with your ecu

Unhooking the ECU is a bad idea. The ECU stores data using the battery power.

this was my old setup a few years ago too, but i encountered one problem, it would take the car 2 times to start up whenever i turned the engine off and the car sat for a while. i guess the 1st time starting it got the fuel going, but not enough, and the 2nd time starting got all the fuel completely pumping.

probably wired up something incorrectly.

just a cheap way of making sure someone don't steal you car. Yeah they might get your stereo and stuff but at least you still have your car

this way if your car isn't getting gas because you turned off the fuel pump they aren't going anywhere with that car

I haven't heard of that before nor have I experienced it either.

I wouldn't say it'll "make sure someone don't steal your car" but it could slow them down which is all you can hope for. Layer your security to slow them down enough that hopefully they give up. If someone wants it bad enough though there isn't much that is going to stop them.

well u r correct if someone wants it bad enough it is gone. here is no 100% guarantee to avoid car theft but a well placed kill switch is the closest thing. the key is to place it somewhere only you know how to access it and not in plan sight. unless you do some james bond stuff like the cruise on with the defrost on with the e brake set to activate the starter. yeah its a lot of wiring but it would takes someone for ever to figure it out assuming you didn't cut the wires in a obvious place or at a location where not normally accessible
